Goodbye Boulder. We are officially on the Road!

After a whirlwind of goodbye dinners and what felt like an endless amount of packing, David and I left Boulder on Thursday and have been on the road ever since.

While I had a few flits of sadness leading up to our departure, once the house and car were completely packed and it was time to take off, I was more than ready to go.

We keep asking ourselves, “Does it feel different? Not having a home to go back to?” but so far it either feels totally fine, or it just hasn’t sunk in yet that we have really left.

We spent our first night in Rapid City, South Dakota to establish residency and went to the DMV the next morning. Everything was very easy and we are now officially proud South Dakotans!

The next day we drove as far as Billings and then finally onto Columbia Falls, our base for Glacier National Park.

Initially I was worried about loading and unloading the car each night as we head north, but we have a system down and so far it has all gone smoothly.

Yesterday was our last full day in Glacier and today we head for Banff. I will be posting about our time in Glacier tomorrow.

Many thanks to everyone who reached out wondering when the blog would be updated.  So happy to have you all following along!  I promise to get back in the groove now that we are moved out and will hopefully have better internet service.

I am speechless! You know how much Papa Nick and I moved over 63 years. We lived in many parts of this beautiful country. I understand the mixed emotions. Once on the way excitement builds. We found we missed the people more than the places. Many of them are still precious friends . However anywhere with a beautiful beach is tops for me. So you are “on the road again “, loving each other and loving your life. Who could ask for more!

Hi Nani! We are so excited, can’t wait to get to the beach. Yes, leaving friends is definitely the hardest part, but hoping many will come and visit us. And of course, we will be reunited with friends when we get to Vancouver so we have that to look forward to. Xoxo

Happy Trails, Anna and David. Back in a more carefree era, my friends and I had a motto for traveling, and for life: Wherever you go, there you are! I believe the two of you will understand this aged adage better than many of today’s citizens. xoxo,
